[All things considered, Ken wasn't even sure how to go about this issue. However, he thought it would only be fair to give Kyrie a Mother's Day gift, right? She was 'technically' the mother figure of their house and it seem natural to do something to celebrate this day with her.

At the same time, he also wasn't too sure how to approach her as he wasn't sure if he was ready to see her maternal figure to look up to. That was why he staring at the card and a plate of cookies on the table. For a moment, he wondered if he should say something to her or just leave it be.

[While Kyrie knew about mother's day, she didn't realize it was today. Nor hat she been one to really celebrate it, considering her own family. So when she saw Ken pondering on what to do, she offered him a smile before sitting down.]

Is something troubling you? Maybe I can help...

[Oh! Maybe he had a crush on someone!]

[The moment that Ken heard her, he immediately panicked before looking back down at said plate of cookies.]

N-No, there isn't! I didn't mean to trouble you Kyrie-san, I was just thinking about something.

[So much for trying to surprise her on this day. As he mumbled to himself, he wondered how to go about presenting the gift to her.]

[In some ways, even someone like Kyrie had a little bit of Nero in her. His actions had her more convinced he had a crush on someone.]

That's alright. If you'd rather not talk about it, I understand. I'm sure whoever you made these cookies for will be happy to get them, if that helps.

[She smiles at him. Go get 'em, Ken!]

[That's when Ken just stared at her with a surprised look. As he looked at the cookies once more, that's when he gave a sigh.]

I sure hope so because I don't want her to be disappointed. Especially when it's Mother's Day.

[He said before looking at her once more. Was she able to understand what he was trying to say?]

Mother's day?

[Please hold...cogs turning, finally realizing what Ken might actually mean. She stares at him in surprise in return. Has she...]

Oh! These are..for me?

[She goes a little quiet, obviously touched.]

I didn't realize...I'm sorry...

[She briefly touches the edges of her eyes and smiles.]

Can I try one now?

[In the back of his mind, Ken couldn't help but give a sigh of relief. He didn't need to be the one to say it out loud.]

Of course, they are for you!

[He said with a chuckle before gesturing her toward the plate.]

I will admit, I'm not very good with baking so I don't really know how you might like them. [Although, he was thankful that he wasn't as bad of a cook like Fuuka. Hopefully she won't mind some of the slightly burnt bits!]

[She does have her moments but she'll figure it out eventually.]

I'm sure they are delicious

[They were made for her so even if Ken had skipped out on the sugar or it had egg shells you bet she would have eaten them. The slightly burnt bits barely register at all...she finishes eating one before declaring;]

These are amazing. Thank you. Should I get us a glass of milk so we can enjoy them together?

[As Ken waited for her reaction, he was a little nervous. Was she going to like the cookies or not? Especially when she was someone whom he barely knew! Biting his bottom lip, he hoped that her reaction wouldn't be as bad as he thought.

Once she did?]

Ah...sure? I wouldn't mind if you did. [He said in awe as he was fully expecting something from her. He wasn't sure but he was fully prepared for her to make some kind of comment about his baking.]

[Truth be told, it allows her to unwind a little too, as she briefly leaves the table to get them two large glasses of milk and places them on the table.]

I didn't expect this at all...It's so nice of you.

It's the least I could do.

[He shifted in his seat before sinking a little further back.] I don't really know a lot about you but I know Nero mentioned that he took care of some children with you.

[He said before giving a small pout] So I guess you're kind of like a mom, right?
